If an exotic cultural experience with kids is on your 2012 travel wish list, Morocco is the perfect destination for a thrilling, all-family adventure.

We spent 10 days in this North African country last fall and can’t wait to go back. We kicked off our trip at the glorious Four Seasons Resort Marrakech, and found it to be the ideal venue to ease the family into a place that is foreign in every way. The plethora of adult and kid-focused amenities, paired with the spectacular service at Four Seasons, allowed us to thoroughly relax before our rigorous five-day journey to the Sahara Desert and back. We selected the award-winning Kensington Tours to manage our post-Marrakech adventure through the rugged High Atlas Mountains and remote, kasbah-laden valleys. Our prize—an overnight on the sand dunes at Merzouga—was nothing short of extraordinary.

The outrageous sights, scenery and cultural interaction with the people of Morocco will be seared in our memories forever. Here’s a selection of our photo favorites.
