Recently, my daughter and I were invited enjoy The Episencial Experience. We were welcomed into an amazing spa suite with a sitting area, fireplace, treatment space, private bathroom and the biggest tub I have ever seen! If you’re looking to rejuvenate in the New Year, why not consider introducing your children to wellness via the spa?
First, Jennifer, our hostess for the day, welcomed us and told us about what we would be doing during our visit. Next, she read The Very Hungry Caterpillar with my daughter and they talked about eating healthy and nourishing your body.
Next, my daughter changed into a bathing suit (remember to bring one). Jennifer brought her into the shower area and let her use body paints (washable paint + body wash) to create a few pictures for loved ones and then paint herself just for fun. ☺ I think this was one of the highlights for my daughter—she was covered in paint and loving every minute of it!
Then it was time for a bamboo foot ritual for mom (fabulous) while my daughter hopped in the giant tub to get cleaned up. Jennifer took great care of her and it was fun for me to hear her having such a good time. We were always in the same room, even if were doing different activities, getting to share our girls’ wellness getaway.
Jennifer also taught my daughter about massage and how her skin needs to stay moisturized to stay healthy. The treatment is supposed to end with a mani/pedi, but my daughter didn’t want to do it. Jennifer did a great job of following my daughter’s lead in terms of what she found interesting, and just continued to teach her more about massage. She even allowed her to lie down on the treatment table next to me so she felt like she was getting a massage as well, making her feel very special.
Four Seasons recommends the The Episencial Experience for children three and older; both boys and girls are welcome. Thank you to Jennifer, and Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, for an unforgettable mother-daughter spa date!
