A trip of a lifetime with my one year old at Four Seasons Bora Bora

A trip of a lifetime with my one year old at Four Seasons Bora Bora

By on June 19th, 2012

Now that I’m a mom, I understand why people go on vacation to do nothing. With my husband busy at a work conference and my daughter at grandma’s, my son Eliot and I embarked on the trip of a lifetime. The destination: Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora. The objective: to relax (yes, even with a one year old in tow).

I daydreamed on the plane, but the place was truly better than I could’ve imagined: Polynesian islets and the calm turquoise waters peppered with over-water bungalows stretching out from the beaches; at night, strings of lit-up bungalows resembling the glowing tentacles of an octopus.

Eliot’s best part: the peek-a-boo window in our bungalow floor, revealing a couple of colorful fish swimming in the crystalline water below. For me? The deck’s little ladder from which, every morning while Eliot still slept, I slipped into the clearest water I’ve ever seen.

See for yourself: here are our trip photos.
